The second volume of Mike Peters' lovingly-written autobiography begins after Mike's out-of-character announcement to leave The Alarm on stage, at Brixton Academy, and open a new chapter, on June 30, 1991. Hope charts Mike's life and career between 1991 and 2005, in the post-Alarm aftermath. This is the time he rediscovered himself as a songwriter, founded The Gathering, and was minutes was from a staggering Alarm reunion in October 1995, before being confronted by the spectre of cancer and a new era of pscyhological combat. 

Hope 1991 - 2005 takes you backstage on the ride through Mike’s astonishing solo years of Breathe, Feel Free, Rise, Flesh and Blood, the birth of thelarm.com. It reflects on the first steps of Coloursound, formed with Mike’s own personal guitar hero: The Cult’s Billy Duffy. It also features The Alarm 2000 with Stuart Adamson and Big Country and The Alarm’s eventual resurrection via the revolutionary 5 month/5 album epic: In The Poppy Fields.

There’s domestic drama as Mike reveals for the first time what it was like to become a father through IVF and he and Jules became parents to twins, Dylan and Evan.

And there's the real backstory behind VHI's Bands Reunited, which finally brought the original members back together for One Night Only in 2003.
